Search clist for a gx390 Honda 13 hp engine, I paid $125 for one local to me.
Use your stock clutch with the taper adapter.
Make your own engine cradle.
Exhaust I can't recall if the stock one will work, if not maybe you can make one or buy one.
Some other little things but you can do it for a lot cheaper than $1000 & it will still kick azz

Depends on what you need. What usually fails on these motors is over time the rod gets loose on the crank, and the rod starts knocking against the backside of the engine block. Then it breaks off and...game over. By the time the knocking is discovered, the crankshaft journal is egged out and you can't just bolt on a new rod.

If this is the problem with your motor, and the damage is limited to the crank and rod, you can contact J&M Golf Carts and you can send them your old crank and a new rod and they will machine them together for you and send them back.

if you can do the rebuild yourself, less then $500...they sell complete kits with gaskets piston, bearings, everything you need. basically just tear it down and rebuild it with the new parts.

Something that didn't get mentioned here is that the genuine hondas and some clones have an electronic ignition governor that limits revs and is at least $100 to replace. You can't just swap the coil out because the flywheel is keyed differently.

You might want to email Russell Thompson at NR Racing for exact info. they are the ones who sell the ungoverned coil for the hondas. ARC racing also issued warnings about replacing stock honda flywheels with billet units concerning timing due to the coil.

The UT1 has a single grounding wire running from the coil. The electronically governed UT2 has 4 wires coming out of it. According to the Karters you can go back to the simple single ground coil merely by using a UT1 flywheel.

Ok so I'll just look at the coil and if one wire is grounded I got an older one.
