![]() Hi all, this is my first post here but I've been reading a lot of posts from searches trying to fix my issue. I have an AMF Harley Davidson golf cart that I can't get to charge. I thought it was my Lester O Matic charger because it was reading no amperes when I plugged it in, but a new charger doesn't kick on when I plug it in. The batteries are about 10 months old, so I don't believe that's the issue. All of them read about 5.8 volts when I test them. The cart does turn on and does run, for about a minute then the batteries can't move it any more. Park it and then try again and they work for about a minute again.
I plug the volt meter in the back of the charger receptacle and get continuity, so I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would think if things weren't connected right, it wouldn't run at all as opposed to running for 30 seconds to a minute then stopping. Thanks for anything anyone can provide. |

![]() On the speed control board, they use the last post there to make contact with the charge circuit. Im pretty sure AMP kept that design from Harley, its been awhile since I have worked on one.

![]() Thank you for the info. So you think it may be something with that connection.

![]() Thank you. I'm probably in over my head. I took a look last night and I'm not sure what the speed control board is. I found what I think it is, and it has a little push switch on it but as far as connections go, I don't know what to do there. Just clean the connections? If so, with what?
I also realized that the two sets of 3 batteries go to different solenoids in back. That seems odd to me as well but I can't see how it would work any other way. Thanks again for trying to help me out, I appreciate it. |
