Re: 2010 ParCar will not switch to fast mode
My cart is Fixed!!!!! Yee Hawww!!!! It was the LAD the whole time. I was not checking correctly. It had about 1/8 inch of throw left in it for full travel. I had to go back and recheck everything, cause you were very adimit about it being the LAD if all the other checks were good. Thanks again. You have saved me tons of time and some cash. I am in debt to you. Thanks So MUCH!!!!!

I bet the tech support guy gets tired of dealing with jack wagons like me. Telling them something checks good when it is not. and he has to keep repeating himself. Heck of a guy....All ya have to do to fix your problem is do what this guy says.

Not at all. It's what I do. I'm the Current Product Engineering Manager and Technical Trainer here at the factory so I enjoy dealing with the normal people. Whenever I'm working on my car or bike, I always hit the forums too.

Re: 2010 ParCar will not switch to fast mode
Hi Tech Support! You look like my new best friend. Haha - I have a 09 Parcar and I’m experiencing the same 1/2 speed issue. I was driving back home after washing the cart at a local power washing station and about halfway home I felt the cart click into about half speed. Did I cause an issue with water? I did not spray directly under the seats but I’m sure some water leaked into the battery and engine area. I don’t know what LAD is that you spoke about early but I’m thinking it’s the speed sensor since I’m at almost exactly 12.5 MPH and I was at about 20 MPH on the turtle setting.
How do I check LAD? Can you tell me how to order the speed sensor? Any issue with the cart wash? Columbia Parcar NEV2-48A 5FCLE26A3910001 Thanks! |

Re: 2010 ParCar will not switch to fast mode
I would first check the three pin connector at the speed encoder. Suppose to be water tight but maybe a pin is corroded and not conducting.

Re: 2010 ParCar will not switch to fast mode
Today I installed a new encoder and magnet. While taking the old one off, I did notice the magnet was cracked. I was excited to see that bc I figured I found the issue. However, after installing the new magnet and putting the encoder back on, the cart is still topping out at 12.5 MPH in both forward and reverse.
Any other ideas on the issue? |

Re: 2010 ParCar will not switch to fast mode
The other thing is that the linear accelerator device has shifter its position so the controller isnt seeing 100% pedal push. You can see where it is held by ubolt in the front without removing anything. Passenger side. Max position would be the LAD is as far forward as possible. Could also be the cable itself has stretched and is worn. Would need a handet to accurately test it but its pretty common that a ten year old cable could be stretched so sometimes adjusting the LAD is a decent home fix.
