Default 780 clutch engagement speed

I have a 2012 txt with a 440 duromax- I am not sure what engagement speed to get for the clutch. I have seen a 1700/2200 engagement, and the engine makes peak torque at 2500 rpm. Will the1700 give better low rpm drivability, and the 2200 a jump off the line? I am looking to get good overall driving, not wheelie like torque.

The lower engagement rpm will be smoother. In fact on my 780 I went to the lower rpm green springs and the lighter 68 gram weights for a lower rpm engagement and faster shift over to the high position.

I went with a 780 from Vegas carts, I believe it is a 1700. Sounds like I could change the weights if it launched too hard. All I should
Need is some Output shaft spacers

Get the lower rpm engagement. 2200 rpm would be better suited to a 2 stroke engine or a high performance machine. Most of the 4 stroke 780's come setup perfect out of the box if they are genuite Comet units. If you end up getting a cheaper chinese version all bets are off, not a fan of cheap copies.

Is Vegas 780 genuine, or imported by the house to market as authentic?

My comet 780 was genuine from Vegascarts. BUT still I wanted a softer smoother launch. The weight and spring change worked our perfectly for me. But again I will add I use my cart on a flat island and smooth cruising with a quick shift over was my end goal.

I got both of my comet 780s from Gopowersports their engagement is about 1900 which I really like because of being able to change gears without grinding they also are usually a little cheaper than others also engagement is still very smooth and launch’s like you wouldn’t believe

Do the comets have any identifying marks to determine their setup?

The 780s are indeed authentic comets. I will ask Vegas what the engagement rpm is-I was hoping for the 1700. Does anyone have suggestions for clutch spacers in case the motor mount doesn’t have enough wiggle room?
