I have a 92 that I just started rebuilding and the rear shocks are suppose to bolt up in the lower bracket that has the hole showing in your picture. The block and longer u-bolt that (for some reason) was installed has put that lower bracket out of alignment. You should be able to pull the shock down and install with the rubber bushings. On another note be real carfull taking the accelarator wiper switch off...I just broke the bottom plastic from the metal part. I put too much pressure on it while removing the throttle rod nut. Had to get a used one and rebuild it. Hope this helps
