Re: Grantspec’s Yamaha G9 Rebuild
Thanks again everyone! Got a decent amount of work done on the cart today. Only a few more pieces left to bolt on and I’ll be riding. Also need to align the front end since I put the new tie rods on. Here’s a pic of how it’s sitting. Probably going to rock it without the roof for a bit until I can make some supports for the EZ-GO roof I found on Craigslist.

Re: Grantspec’s Yamaha G9 Rebuild
I drive mine without the roof all the time [emoji57]. You should look into the headlight kits for these. Not too much and really adds a nice touch to the front

Grantspec’s Yamaha G9 Rebuild
It’s running pretty well now! Just took it around the block. The one issue I’m having is that the fan case is broken and I think it starts to overheat after a little bit. I keep trying to tape it up with some aluminized tape but it doesn’t hold very long. Can’t find the correct part anywhere. Does anyone have one of these plastic shroud pieces laying around?? It’s the top piece. Seems to be right at the fan outlet so all the cooling air rushes out instead of around the cylinder.

I do not know the year of your G9, but isn't it part ref #5? ...less than 25$ brand new |

Re: Grantspec’s Yamaha G9 Rebuild
to you. You have taken the time to clean and paint while it was apart. Never understood why people wouldn't do that. Outstanding job!

Re: Grantspec’s Yamaha G9 Rebuild
Got my new rear shroud. Just need to find some time to put it on. I am having an issue with rear clutch or transmission noise. Here is a video of said noise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zifmsCkJ-P8 It sure seems like it has to do with the rear clutch as it only does it when the sheaves max out. It also looks as though the inner rear seal has popped out of the sliding sheave. Not really sure why. This is a brand new rear clutch. I suppose it could be the input shaft bearing but I was hoping for some opinions and things to check from the gurus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
