Re: Another newb question
You probably could try a G1 belt as it's almost 3" shorter. But it's 1/16" narrower than the G2-YDR belts. I don't know how it would work though; additionally, 3" is a heck of a stretch and I don't know if you could even get it on there. Belts aren't that expensive, get one and try it. Let us know the results. I think the Jakes power kits for the driven clutches are the best bet for the Yamahas.

Re: Another newb question
A shorter belt will definitely give more torque but it will also definitely decrease the top end speed on a Yamaha. The best and cheapest torque upgrade for a Yamaha is the torque spring/spacer only kit for around $45.

Re: Another newb question
Is there any shorter belts for a g1? I looked at all the cart belts i could find and they are all longer.

Re: Another newb question
The G1 uses the shortest Yamaha belt. Club Car's 1984-1987 belts are 37.25" long, but only 15/16" wide, so that wouldn't work well.
I think you are out of luck unless you can find an ATV or sled belt that fits it. |
