Timely post!

To clarify, which clearance should o be shooting for on a 2009 carb setup? I see some conflicts above, .004, .008, .012?

I read thru the thread, didn't see any conflicts. This thread has nothing to do with carb setups.

A related question: how do I tell which rocker arm is intake and which is exhaust on a G22?

The one nearer the muffler is exhaust.

Got it. Just discovered that the exhaust rocker is factory, the intake rocker is a different type completely. I ordered the factory rocker. That should make adjusting the valves a ton easier.

Thanks all.

Pardon my lack of knowledge in this area but what do properly adjusted valves do to a cart? More power? Smoother/quieter running? I doubt mine have ever been adjusted so I'm curious to know if they need adjusting or not? She runs loud but I figured that was due to her age.

Thanks!

Been a while since I’ve done this...

TDC on the intake or exhaust stroke?

Or individually? TDC on exhaust = adjust the exhaust valve & TDC on intake = adjust the intake valve?

Or does it matter, just bring the piston up and make em .004?

Compression stroke!!!!!!!

Order of sequence is.
Intake
Compression
Power
Exhaust
So coming up on compression stroke is where you set TDC.. then adjust valves.
The next time it comes up the exhaust valve will be open,.......

Good luck.
