89 EZ-GO 48 Volt upgrade question
Currently in phase 2 of my upgrades on my 89 EZ GO. Few years ago did cable upgrade, HD fwd and reverse, bigger solenoid and 500 amp controller from Scotty B.
Well this year going to 48 volt so got batteries and guy bought them from put them in but he did not hook solenoid in. I sent Scotty a e-mail but since weekend thought would post here to. Issues. Solenoid seems to be hitting case and cables to small for solenoid which looks like 7/16. There enough room to drill out lug of make new cable. Any advice on solenoid mounting. |

Re: 89 EZ-GO 48 Volt upgrade question
You have to move that solenoid away from the metal case or you will have a possible short to the case when you mount the cables. That small wire probably goes on the small terminals. Yes the big terminals are larger than stock. I had Scottyb make me cables with the proper lugs on them.

Re: 89 EZ-GO 48 Volt upgrade question
I will have to build something to move it over. Looks like I will have to build a cable to.
I need to finish wiring it up to, Wiring solenoid looks pretty straight forward as back side (rear of cart) will get cable from controller on big terminal and then blue and black on small. Front will get + from battery and small orange wire. |
