Default Brake lights

My new to me 05 precedent has brake lights. They stay on as long as the brake pedal is pressed. Is this normal for this cart. Should it have a timer that may not be working.?

As soon as I find the proper Torks driver I'll be able to remove the floor and look. Thanks for the help.

Update, update. I cannot remember how many times I have told people to read the manual, read the manual. Well I finally read the manual on this cart, guess what. It says when applying park brake the brake lights will stay on for up to 4 minutes, mine went off after 3 1/2 minutes.
