Re: Which cart to buy? Club Car bs Yamaha
Trying to make sense of these Trojan date codes. From what I知 reading thes batteries are from 2011??? Is that correct? These are supposed to be the ones that are only 3 months old.

I just bought mine 2 weeks ago. If yours are fresh, they should look like these. |

I seem to recall seeing numbers melted/branded into a battery case during the reconditioning process. Obviously I could be wrong... but I highly doubt those batteries were brand new just 3 months ago. The info on my batteries appears to be printed or lasered on. |

According to Trojan the number stamped on negative terminal is month/year. A1 = January 2011.

Re: Which cart to buy? Club Car bs Yamaha
Also keep in mind battery core values.
If you buy a cart with no batteries to turn in... you will get hammered on 6 core charges. Ask me how I know. (@$37ea) Unless you can verify the condition of the batteries... assume the worst and buy the cheapest cart with a set in it that at least power the cart well enough to be sure all the rest of the cart works.... then go buy new batteries. I paid $300 for my cart... and have since replaced every single electrical component on the cart, exept the motor itself. I probably have around $2500 into my cart now... but it runs like a beast and everything electrical is brand new. Old batteries will sometimes work... but not very well or for very long. I revived a set of 10 year old Deka batteries a few years ago. Brought them back from stone cold dead. The cart would run OK for a mile or two but would quickly fall off. Optimum would be to get one of the $300-400 carts that just needs batteries (supposedly), get them to put new batteries in it (at there discounted cost) then walk away with a 05 with new batteries for around $1k. Probably end up with a 05 with 2-3yr old batteries that everything works on though for about $1k otd (after tax, renting a trailer etc.). |

My T875's were $129.99ea at Batteries Plus. I couldnt get the price any lower through my commercial account..
Not sure you will find them much cheaper than that. Just make sure you have cores to turn in. |
