Wink 97 EZGO DCS solenoid wire burnt

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My cart stopped working, so I replaced my 7 year old batteries after rebuilding the battery rack. It still would not run, I removed the cover on the DCS controller and found one of the wires burnt off the solenoid contact. It's the on the inner side of the unit and has two other smaller wires on the same post, also burned off. Over the past several months, on occasion it would stop running, I found that if I turned off the key for several seconds, turn it on again and it would run fine all day.
My question is: Is this just likely a loose wire that finally burnt through, a bad solenoid or some other problem that caused the wire to burn through?

It is hard to say at the moment, I feel you may have lost the solenoid at the same time, but firs you will need to fix the wires to find out. The wires must of come loose which causes more heat, which then cause your wires to burn. Start with fixing your wires and see what happens.

Thanks for the help, when I took a closer look at the solenoid post, where the wires burnt off, the post was loose and the insulation damaged. I inatalled a new solenoid, used the old resistor bridge, and the cart is working just fine.
