need 89 marathon help
Recently had the top end of my 89 marathon two stroker rebuilt. Seals replaced, Carb taken apart and cleaned, HEI conversion. New fuel pump and all fuel lines replaced.
Here is the problem!!!! The cart runs great and all clutches engage good while the cart is lifted on stands, but when I run the cart on the ground, it seems as if I can not build up any speed and seems to be starving for fuel. I took the cart on a test run the other day and everything seem to be running fine until I attempted to run it up a fairly large hill. The cart seemed to lose power and again seemed to starve for fuel. What else can I check??? I havent placed alot money int this cart but I am starting to wonder if I should spend my money on a newer cart?? Any help is appriated. |

just an idea, but it seems to help some who have done the hei thing. try reversing the red and blue wires from the pulsar to the module.

Re: need 89 marathon help
Pulling the choke does no good!!! I have tried switching the wires on the HEI conversion with no luck. I am at my wits end and I think I am going to sale it before it becomes a money pit. I only have 600 dollars into it and have gotten two good summers out of it. I think I am gonna look at some newer models.

Re: need 89 marathon help
just a thought did you move the pulsar coil ? if so try backing up the hill and see if timing is off . I has an 86 that someone had gotten the timing off and it was rotten in foward and great in reverse .I fixed the timing and ran it for 5 years
