Default Carts move 4 inches then stops

Cart has been sitting for two years. Charged all batteries and when I step on the pedal it moves forward about 4 inches then stops. Let off pedal and hit it again it does the same thing.
Any ideas?

Probably gonna want to tell us the model it is -, how old, or at least some serial #'s. The answer will vary depending on what you have.

We are camping buddies,

I'm gonna need to load test the batteries, last evening I jacked the rear up to take load off the motor, the pack voltage was at 36+ volts, tires spun sluggish. Checked pack voltage with pedal depressed and voltage dropped to < 29 volts. Checked each battery 3 had 6.5+ volts, 3 had 5.9 & 5.8 volts. Plugged the charger in and ran the motor, tires spunfree and fast, unplugged charger and the motor immediately died to snail speed. Will have to replace the batteries.... Thanks for everyone's help, this is a cool website

Camper Dog get off the wallet and bring me 4 new batteries, we are leaving Friday, and I have to get the camper straight tonight , and we are drinking beer Thursday night, so that doesn't leave you many nights to replace them...

Sounds like the same problem I had with my old melex cart. I bought batteries a while back, only used it a couple times around the block, then parked it. It only got moved once every day or two just to get it out of the way of other vehicles needing to go in and out of the yard, and then parked again for a couple months. Went to move it again one day, and it didn't budge. I could see the shaft on the motor try to turn, but no movement of wheels. I figured it needed a charge, so I charged it up overnight, and tried again, same thing. Tested batteries, and they SEEMED ok, until I loaded them down, then ONE of them went to under 1 volt. Bypassed it temporarily, so I'm down to 30v instead of 36v, and it runs fine (little slower than it should be, etc., but at least it moves now). So, looks like I need at LEAST one new battery, but I think I'm going to grab another full set + 2 and convert this one to 48v.
