Re: Accessory chargers
I am sure trickle is probably the correct way to go, but I have had the same ole' Sears 10amp/50amp start charger for around 10yrs and have used it on about every kind of battery you can think of including things you sure shouldn't use it on and have had no problems.
I charge my acc batt when it gets into the low 12's for about 1-2 hours and it is good to go. I have a cd player(50watts) head lamps, tail lamps, neon lights under the cart, and 120v rope lights through a converter on that one battery and have had no problems in the past 8 months. Usage varies I am sure, but I charge mine around once a month or so on average. |

Re: Accessory chargers
I've been using a Schumacher XC-10 charger that I got at wally world.
Pretty good results. It will charge 12 volt or 6 volt. Standard, AGM, or Gel Batts. 2, 6, or 10 Amp. |

Re: Accessory chargers
I charge my Cart Pack with a regular charger once a week.
I charge my accessory battery with a mounted Solar charger. |

Re: Accessory chargers
olmanrivah, how well does that solar panel work for you? Does it keep the battery fully charged?

Re: Accessory chargers
Works great. I don't have a large amp or a big draw, just a radio and 2 speakers. In fact, it's a motorcycle radio and speakers to endure the elements. Uses a battery like they use in wheel chairs. A small sealed lead acid battery.

Re: Accessory chargers
Nice thing about those solar chargers is that when you are out riding, it is still charging the battery. Instead of having to plug a battery charger in, all you have to do is roll the card outside.
