Guess my speed with upgrades ( $25 donation to BGW in winners name)
I got a cart for $100 bucks with 2800 rpm motor stock 275 amp curtis that needed everything ( new controller, pot box readjusted, 2 micros, solenoid, doide and resistor, batterys and charger) but I think I have it figured out Thanks to this forum. Thanks Rabbit. Now I bought a HD F/R cam from scotty, rebuilt 350 amp curtis comtroller with all 4 ga wire. I get my motor coming back from PQ with a Bandit upgrade hopefully by Fri.
White rogers 36 v 200 amp cont 600 peak solenoid. New duralast batterys, yea I know they suck to many here. But really need them to run maybe 2-3 hours every few weekends. and will be kept on Protech charger full time. To say thanks for the help We'll play a little game with the winner getting a $25 donation in their name to this site to help keep it going. The person to guess the top speed with out going over wins. Breaks do not drag, stock size tires filled to 23#, one person on flat paved roads verfied with GPS The test track is about 1/2 mile long flat road. Average 2 runs, 1 each way so Wind, Hills, ect won't matter. i don't Know before speeds as it didn't run or gear ratio but probley stock. Post your guess |

Keep your guessing coming. I cant do a lot for a prize but I am trying. On another forum I'm on, guys will donate old parts, Services, collectables or any golf cart Items and do bids on them to raise money for the site. I could start, I have a Curtis 275 amp 1204 used and garenteed good I don't even if this is within the rules of the forum. but It's a good way to get rid of some old parts and raise money for BGW

Cool project! I like seeing some of the old Melex carts brought back.
A 2800 rpm motor with stock rear and tires will only go 12 mph. Bandit, cables, controller and HD F/R switch or not, I bet it won't go over 16 mph. Send the donation to Roady for his worthy cause. |

Re: Guess my speed with upgrades ( $25 donation to BGY in winners name)
Here's a few other project I've done since joining here in Nov 08
The Maxx 4 is a 4 seater true 6 wheel drive, it steers like a tank it has skid steering and it's amphibious. Both the maxx and CC were frame off resto. The Club Car was converted to 48 volts on a resistor cart with wiper arm that runs 24 mph. drove It 3 years on my hunting lease peanut farm never had a problem, I beat the snot out of the CC on the farm pulling Disk for food plots, putting 400 lbs of corn for feeders, bouncing off stumps at full throttle, then sold it to a guy on the island and he still uses it everyday as a LSEV and is taged like a car. The 03 EZgo was just stock. Planing on makeing the melex another hunting buggy. Save your typing saying the things I've done to my other carts won't work or will burn up They still run. I'm with doug and think about 16 but don't worry you said it first. The yellow subaru powered side by side sucked nooo power a 100 lbs os corn and could barly move so i sold it. |
