Re: 12v accessories installation help
Sorry I didn't see this earlier to answer your question. You can do the installation the way you described:
Positive from the amp - Positive Buss Bar (add a fuse to this wire for safety) Negative from the amp - Negative Buss Bar Remote turn on lead - Key switch Personally, I would add a second switch between the key switch and the amp. When you don't want to use the amp, it's still going to be pulling power as long as the key is turned on with your setup. By adding a second switch, the amp can be turned off when not in use. This will reduce unwanted battery drain and actually add more life expectancy to your amp. Using a slightly larger wire than what is on your plug from the Buss Bar to your amp is a good idea to make sure the amp is getting enough power. Amps are power hungry and the more you get to it, the better it will perform. Do not use a smaller wire though, it will cause the amp to work harder, go bad sooner, and it will not perform well. Also, make sure there is plenty of air space and air movement where you plan on mounting the amp. It may be small, but the one I have gets just as warm as my regular sized amps. Heat is one of the most often found causes of amp failure. Hope this helps, -Scott H. |

Re: 12v accessories installation help
That helped a ton Scott. Thank you so much. And yes I am going to use the included toggle switch instead of the key switch. Because the cart is electric and not gas people that just stop and get out don't think about turning the key off because they do not here it running. One more question for you can I run my 12 volt cigarette lighter to the key switch that way it's only drawing power when the key is on or should I just wire it direct to the + and - bus? I'll be getting in touch with you soon on how to hook up my led lights to a switch.

Re: 12v accessories installation help
Have you pulled the key switch to look at it. It has to be the kind that also turns on head lights. If it is not then it is just a 2 terminal switch. It has to have the other 2 terminals for lights. The switch is 36 volt. The second light part runs 12 volt.

Re: 12v accessories installation help
No it's not the 3 pole kind. I'm just going to wire it directly. It doesn't draw that much power anyways. Thanks!
