TXT series speed upgrades

Hello, I am wondering what is the best way to speed up a series txt without spending a fortune on motor and controller, if this is possible. I know it is easy with a PDS, you just plug in the chip for $10, but thats not what im working with. any help is appreciated.

Like northwest said, on a series cart $ = speed.

the 48V conversion is the way to go

You'll need, as mentioned:
controller
2 or 4ga wire set
hd f/r switch
hd solenoid
2 more batteries

Adding in bigger (taller tires) will trade off some torque for speed.

With all of the stuff in my sig, I'm just now hitting 20MPH, with the wind behind me When I'm loaded down with two people and our gear for hunting, I'm happy hitting 17-18MPH.

All stock. I live in a golf course community and have noticed some seemingly normal series carts hitting some high speeds, but it looks like I am going to have to ad $$$$$$$$$ to the equation. Any way, whats the best place to get a controller and will my fleet motor handle 20 or 25 mph?

scottyb will hook you up for a price no doubt, but it will be worth it

tell him what you got and what you want to do.. they say 48v conversion will add 30% more speed and 30% more torque. you will need a controller solenoid 4 ga wires a hd f/r switch and 2 6v batteries

$500 on a controller, f/r switch $100, wires $220, batteries $250 prices are just estimates but 1000 bucks will probably do it, the sky is the limit

Is that really the only way, or can I get away with just a controller or something because $1000 is a bit steep for 5mph

how old are your batteries???? technically you should have all batteries around the same age.

The batteries are 2009 Trojans, and I would ideally like to keep them as new ones are pricey, you know what they say, if it ain't broke don't fix it. I would like to get to 20 mph on flat ground, I don't need more than that because there's no electronic speed muzzle on the series, so I can pass people on the down hill parts. I'm doing a freedom conversion and want the freedom speed as well.

Speed is a little harder to get in a series cart. They are made more for torque than speed. It can be done and they are very durable at it but it takes a bit more doing than a sepex cart for speed. You will need to upgrade the controller, solenoid, Cables, and F&R. Then you will be ready for speed mods like any one or a combination of the things below:
Speed motor (PQ Bandit or better)
Taller gears and/or taller tires
A voltage increase
Some or all of these will make a Series cart produce more speed.

So the standard components cant handle the extra power from an upgraded controller to get to 20? I know that there are freedom series models that are factory capable of 20 mph, and I am trying to convert a fleet series to a freedom series. do you know what is different between the two models?
