Charging Time on 1993 Marathon
I purchased my fist cart last week, a 1993 36v Electric Marathon.
It came with a charger (see picture) but no manual. I'm trying to find out how long to set the charger to charge the batteries. Any help would be appreciated. Tom 1993 Electric Marathon Model #CL2793 |

Re: Charging Time on 1993 Marathon
With the timer in the off position, plug the cord into the carts charging port. You should hear a click from the charger. Turn the timer all the way to the start position. Charging should commence and the ammeter should read 18-20 amps and slowly decrease as charging progresses. Charger will automatically shut off when batteries are fully charged. The timer will stop when the charger shuts off so you will know how long it took to charge the batteries.
Rule of thumb: Fully charge the batteries each time you are done with the cart for the day. Follow the above procedure and let the charger do its thing. It is possible that it could take longer than 12 hours to fully charge the batteries. This has never happened to me but if you have reason to suspect the batteries are not fully charged after 12 hours, start the charge cycle over again. I have the owners service manual no. 25122-G1 covering years 89-93 if you have a specific question. Go here: "Scottyb's Carts Unlimited" and read everything about batteries. Time well spent. |

Re: Charging Time on 1993 Marathon
You are a lifesaver.
I didn't want to start a charge until I knew what I was doing. I don't have anything specific I need with the manual. I'm one on those wierd guys that reads the manual front to back when I get something. I'll do another search for Manual 25122-G1 and see if I can find it online. Thanks again, Tom |
