I got my expensive pot installed and so far everything is good. Sure hope it lasts a long time.
Now I have a question. Can I use any power drive charger to charge this 1996 carry all, Club Car cart.
I have ordered the parts to rebuild my Lester power drive charger, but I would like to recharge with a friends charger while I am waiting for parts.

I think it has to be a Power drive "1" ( or just Powerdrive), because the newer ones put out a different amount of power...
I may be wrong on this...

Yes, I was told that just any charger would not work. My friend has a power drive charger, but I don't know anything about them and surely don't want to mess up my new potentiometer. His cart is newer than mine. I might better wait till I fix mine.
Thanks

I am just curious and showing my ignorance on this topic, but if all the 48 volt chargers put out 48 volts, what would be the difference in the chargers?

Somewhere on here one time I read that there is some type of amperage difference?
Hopefully somebody that knows for sure will chime in...

Back to your Potentiometer that you said would not give you full throttle. On my 98 you can adjust the pedal its self to give you plenty of travel. Before you losing the bolts make sure that you mark where it is so you can go back to that position if need be. Mine like yours works great for two years now.

Use it. As long as it's got the correct plug it'll charge the cart. PowerDrive, PowerDrive2, PowerDrive3, doesn't matter. They all work.
