I do not know the wiring of your cart but I would still disconnect one of the main leads.

The reason I mentioned disconnecting, is that one time on my DS, when I was being impatient replacing my light switch with a fancier one, I tipped the dash forward and got a momentary flash as the key switch brushed by the aluminum. Nothing fried (because it was a millisecond in duration) but I learned my lesson about disconnecting pack power, even if your just checking or cleaning various connections.

. . . on my 06 DS I can reach up to the reverse buzzer from the front-underneath of the cart . . . flashlight needed to verify what you grab . .

electrical tape or duct tape over it , quiets it down , not obnoxious , but still beeps for safety

In the process of getting rid of my reverse buzzer right now. I found a 48vt red pilot light that I am mounting in the dash. Going to just use the buzzer wiring.
