Default 99 CC Carryall Trying to Remove DRIVEN Clutch

Tried to edit Title....DRIVEN CLUTCH

I am trying to remove the Driven Clutch to install a new spring.

The bolt came right off...the driven clutch slides freely out about 4 or 5 inches and stops completely. Everything I have read says should either slide right off or is stuck.

Is there a special way to remove this. I have seen the puller tools for the drive clutch but nothing for DRIVEN Clutch.

I am afraid to pry at it or mallet it.

Any suggestions?

I found on google the part that Is rectangular steel is a "key".

If the clutch is already sliding that much,
I personally would feel comfortable tapping it off
the input shaft with a rubber, or plastic mallet!
It might be a possibility that the key maybe binding a little,
Nothing to worry about!

The key slid right out after I took the bolt and washer off.

It was just that when it slid it slid freely and then to a complete dead stop.

I was afraid to pry at it or use the mallet.

I'll give it a whirl again tomorrow.

Wasn't sure if there was even a puller similar to that of the drive clutch.

So once I get the driven clutch removed and install the spring/.......

How do/should I "clock" the new spring onto the driven clutch when I put it back together? What position for the bottom 1,2,3 and for the top A,B,C etc....?

I watched a few videos but most were for 4 wheelers and snowmobiles.

I don't really follow the "clutch clocking" bit of it all.

I've never had mine apart, and my computer,
and manuals are halfway across the country...
Hopefully someone will chime in to help!

Well I feel like a complete PUTZ.....

The only reason it wouldn't come off was because the sway bar bracket was bent upwards a fraction of an inch and was catching on the lip of the clutch. I just had to bend the sway bracket back where it shoulda been.

Then the only other thing I had to do was rig up my own Snap Ring pliers since the ones I ordered a few weeks ago never showed up.

I found some old needle nose pliers and grinded the tips and bent to 90 degrees..worked like a charm.

And fyi, the "clocking" doesn't apply because the spring is flat on the ends unlike the stock spring.

INSTALLED.......NEXT

thanx
