Broken Copper Ground Wire
Could someone tell me what this Copper wire is that goes from the frame to the engine mount? I found it dried up and broken. My local small engine guy made me a new one that I will install I'm just wondering its purpose.
Thanks.. |

Re: Broken Copper Ground Wire
Obviously the Starter/Generator needs a ground to start and charge,
and the engine needs a ground to shut off, If you look at the engine cradle, you'll notice the rubber snubber, and the only other connection to the frame are the leaf springs, and they're also isolated from the frame with rubber bushings! Some older carts have 2 ground straps on the engine cradle, one on the S/G bracket to frame, and one on the engine head to frame, My 07 only has the one from the head to the frame! |

Re: Broken Copper Ground Wire
My buddy's 94 had 2... 1 ground strap should be sufficient though!
