Default 2012 Yamaha G29, jerks taking off

Just got new batteries last week. Now when we press the gas pedal while in reverse or going forward from a stop, it jerks, then it acts normal as it picks up speed. It used to be smooth from a stop as we pressed the pedal. I checked that the tach sensor on motor was connected. Does this sound like a battery issue or just a coincidence?

Sounds like a problem with the throttle not the batteries.

5 year old post. Not likely to get a response!

Replaced my batteries last week & had the same issue. Ended up being a cable connection issue which new cables solved it for me. Whole set was $25 directly from Yamaha.

Also what batteries did you go with since I read on here if you have "cranking"deep cell batteries they will also have this same behavior.

I am having sort of the same issue. I am thinking the accelerator sensor or reostat is now 10+ years old. Have replaced batteries and have newer cables made with welding cable, more strands and more flexibility. Motor was replaced
due to issues Yamaha had with this series carts.
