The engine ID number is located on the front face of a metal air shroud (early engines) or plastic shroud (later engines) attached on the very front of the engine, just behind of the carburetor. A designation of EH29 indicates the 295cc engine. If the label states EH35 then it is the 350cc version.

Looks like you have a lot of work ahead of ya, I like the diamond plate.
Thanks StoveBolt. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Anybody have a wiring diagram for this thing? I just got my coil in and wanna make sure everything is in order.

Also am I calling this thing right? Gxt 804d? I can't really find too much info on the web about it.

Update: I put the coil in, changed the fuel lines, new pump. I was able to drive it around if I hold the choke closed. Not sure what its called but the plate in the carburetor that closes when the choke is pulled. The choke cable is pretty rusted and doesn't do much. Drove it around for about a minute and then the top, (valve cover?) started leaking oil. You can see that someone put that orange gasket sealer on it. Looks like they either lost a bolt or broke it off because that corner is where it is leaking oil.

Sounds like you're on the way, might need to clean the carburetor and the valve cover takes an O ring (no gasket), hope the bolt isn't broke.

Good news! I swapped motors out and after some troubleshooting I got it working. It would only sputter when I used starting fluid. I adjusted the valves, tried with the exaust off, checked spark and ground, and still same. Finally took the float apart cleaned it and now its running. Still need a few things to make it solid before I take everything apart and repaint it.

So since i've been running it there has been some smoke from the exaust manifold and where the muffler connects. Not blue or coming out of the tail pipe. Any thoughts?
Its the old muffler from the old motor and there is a little oil where it connects to the frame on the bottom but not much elsewhere.
