need fast answer/ trying to get my engine back together
1986 marathon
My engine is ready to go back together. I have had the new crank installed and I am installing my piston. I can't remember which side is the exhaust port. My piston has on either side of it (over the wrist pin holes) an EX and STD marking. The EX will either need to face the fan or the clutch. Any help? My exhaust manifold exits under the motor when mounted with carb on top of the motor. |

The hole on the side of the piston always faces the intake side. The reed valves are also on the intake side
