Default 82 Marathon Low Compression

82 Marathon with Robin 244 here. Compression is only 30 psi. Have fuel, spark, turns over, full charge on battery, replaced spark plug, gas is a little stale smell.. Only description i have is that it took about 30 minutes to fully die. Started out with a little trouble to get going .. then slowly yet consistently losing power while the exhaust ( or general engine area ) was getting much louder turning for normal to a puffing sort of noise.

Any help would be great. My cart is sitting dead right now. Please help.

30 psi means that it's time for new rings, piston, and possibly even a new cylinder.

Rings at the very least.

Oh, and since the engine has to come out, you may as well change the crankshaft seals too.
