Default No throttle under load

So.....We are having fuel pump issues. PO put in am aux fuel pump, looked like a 4 cycle pump so we changed it to the original block mounted pump. Still getting to much fuel so we put an overflow line back to tank. Also using a crank case filter for air filter because original is gone. With cart lifted we get good rpm's, but when we tried a test drive we could not get over a couple of mph. Clutch did engage fully. Jack cart up again and got full rpm's. We have also opened rear diff ,cleaned and re-lubed. Any ideas on where to go next?

Just read a thread that states there should be a spacer between fuel pump and block. Do not have that, can it be a part of my problem, should I go back to remotely mounted pump?

Have you done a compression test yet?
120 psi is new. 100 is decent.

You should clean, and then lube the secondary clutch with Molylube, or a dry graphite.

Any way for you to post a video?

psi is 110. I am still in flip phone mode. I will have 1 of the boys do a video. What in particular are you looking for?
Will do on the secondary.
Thank you.

I would like to listen to the engine, and watch the operation of both clutches.

I watched the video at least 5 times. It jumps to life, and sounds like it is running strong. I can see that the drive clutch is closing all the way, and the belt is riding to the top. I can’t see how far the driven clutch is opening, but it looks like at least most of the way. It should go down to where the plates angle, and it should have a good grip on the belt.

I can hear something spinning down after the engine shuts off. I assume that it’s the belt rubbing on the clutch as the weight of the wheels spin it.

Check the width of your belt. 1 3/16” is new. Anything less than an inch is junk. Grab ahold of the secondary plates. See if they are loose, wobbly, or sloppy. I suspect the driven clutch, but I don’t want to be the one spending your money without seeing it in person, and exhausting all other options.

Plates have maybe 1/16 wobble. Belt is a strong 1 1/8 thick. Fuel still comes out of carb during and after a run. Going to try fixing bowl as seen in another thread.I assume I need to remove secondary to lube properly. If nothing else this cart is helping me with my typing.

See if you can send the video to StoveBolt. It's always good to have more than one set of eyes. A stripped hub is a good idea.
