Mechanical timing is spot on. Is there possibly somthing in the electronic timing is bad?

I would still suspect spark timing.

Sounds like valves to me. The clearance between the rocker and cam lobe should be .005" with the lobe pointed down.

The valve clearance is set proper rechecked it. If it idles just fine I would assume mechanicall timing is fine. I am leaning towards electronic timing cdi or coil bad ground?

When it's chocked it will idle. When I let go of choke it just turns over. Have also tried starting fluid same results.

OK so this is what I have done.
Imstalled Coil and cdi off a known working cart no change in issue.
Ohmed pulsar checks out as good.
Checked mechanical timing. Pistons are at TDC along with the cam mark.
Ran new good fuel to eliminate that being a possible issue.
I'm stumped lol

If your getting fire back thru the carb.
Your getting combustion (spark) while the intake valve is still open.

either the cam timing or spark timing is off, I would suspect spark timing. By the way you say I it runs while trying to give it some gas.

Since you stated you have interchanged the flywheel from a different engine,
Think you need to some home work on the different flywheels for this engine and see if you can get the part number off the one you are using.

Something else you may want to check, when you put the flywheel on, you could have pushed the keyway out and the flywheel may not be in time with crank shaft.

So it's solved the flywheels did not match. The opening that the pulsar reads was not inecessarily the same location as this one. Swapped to the existing flywheel fired right up. Thank you guys helping me out. The engine has a tick it's definitely in the top. I check Re checked and checked again the valve clearance. I now am starting to wonder if alot of this noise is coming from the rear axle. Both axles are wobble and it clicks really loud when rolled around.
