had a rough time getting the motor in but it runs pretty good. buddy was assembling motor and turned it on the work bench. right when i came back into the garage he turned it so that the carb was facing the front edge of the work bench (so if it were to tip over, it would fall to the ground). long story short we walked around the corner and heard a big crash, and the assembled motor was on the ground about 45 inches down from the bench.

we thought we had put a hole in the block, or bent the crank which was brand new from the rebuild. luckily we just broke a chunk out of the fan shroud and one of the mounting holes for the fan shroud is cracked. It put a dent in the clutch as well, but lucky nothing major, we got it hammered out. crank was not bent. after we examined everything, we ended up installing it. runs good, sucks about the shroud, probably going to fab up something to fill the gap. probably should have jb welded it but I wasn't sure if it might break off at some point and get into the fan. It is near the bottom of the fan though. I have attached pictures.

also, the duct/tube that runs from the carb to the air filter is in pretty bad shape. does anybody have one for sale or have a good site to grab one ? thanks
