Default 93 G8 Fuel in Air FIlter Compartment

I am having an issue in my 93 G8 and noticed that fuel keeps going into my air filter tank. I have checked the carb and seems to be fine but did notice that if I removed my spark plug wire from the plug, I am still able give throttle to the engine. This should not happen, I shouldn't be able to turn it over. Does this mean my rings in my pistons are bad and need to be replaced? Thanks.

Any time you press the gas pedal, the engine is going to turn. The starter/generator will spin the engine until the spark/fuel takes over and the engine actually starts and revs up.

If you have fuel in your air filter box, then you either have a needle that is not seating properly, allowing the carb to flood, or there's too much oil and it's pushing out the vent/breather into the airbox. Carb needle not seating can also fill the crankcase with fuel, making the oil level too high as well.

How much oil is on the dipstick? Is the cart lifted?

The cart is not lifted. As for the dipstick, there was no oil on the dip stick over the weekend I added a qrt to it. Oil now on the rigged lines of the dip stick. At one point though, a few weeks back when I bought the cart, there was oil in the air filter and tank.

Ok, if you added a quart to whatever is in there, then it's overfilled.

Drain the oil, and refill with exactly 1qt of oil. Any more than a quart and you'll have problems. Do you know why there was no oil in it or did you not check it before? If the oil level was low enough that it wasn't on the dipstick that's a red flag that needs to be addressed first!
