EZGO 3pg reed valve mods

Hello there I just picked up my first cart which has had a later model 3pg rear end swapped in. While I have the rear end out for some better fab work which we will not get in to, has anyone modded the #pg red valve basket? I didn't see anything on the forum. Like going with carbon or fiberglass pedals instead of the metal ones. I have the motor out and they sit flat with no light showing but as a hot rodder I can't leave anything alone. Thanks for any info.

As far as modifications go, I am not sure. However, I did rebuild a 3pg this winter and I put in carbon fiber petals because my metal ones were leaving a gap form being 30 years old. I ordered two sets, I have an extra set I would be willing to sell at a discounted price if youre interested.
