Cart runs but won’t move unless differential is locked

I inherited a gas EZ Go workhorse ST480. It had a blown motor...so I replaced it. I drove it around for about 15 minutes...all was good. Now when I step on the gas...the motor cranks and revs up...you can see the primary clutch squeeze in and the secondary clutch ease out as the belt spins faster...but it won’t move...unless you flip the lever that locks the rear differential. Locked up you can drive it. Open diff...you are just going to sit and enjoy the exhaust. Any ideas?

Check splines at the rear hubs, like the TXT and st350 models, the splines may have stripped on one side, or a drive shaft is faulty. Hence driving in diff lock but not otherwise. Sounds like you are getting power at only one wheel. I am guessing here as i dont know how the 480 rear is set up.

I agree with Cartmaster, stripped hub on the drive wheel.

Well would you look at that...stripped splines on the right side rear hub. Sounds like you boys have seen this before!! New hub ordered!! Thanks for the advice.
