Default 83 Marathon Muffler Question

I have a need for 83 Marathon Muffler or equivalent. Can anyone help? Need to have something with equivalent back pressure.

Your only real hope is to find a used 83 muffler.

Because of age of cart and only one year using this muffler they are worse then hens teeth to find. Since engine specks remained basically to same from 81 - 87, I was hoping to find someone who replace 83 muffler with another.

Do they make a conversion kit to modify the muffler made for models from 1976 to 1987, with the exception of 1983, to fit the 1983 model?

If you found a headpipe and a muffler, it would mount vertical between the spark plug and the gas tank. There is also a bracket that mounts near the head.

I don't know the exact difference between your 83 and the 81 thru 87's, I did a search and see the 83 is not available so they've changed something. Could be as simple as a mount? Perhaps a different shaped exhaust pipe etc.....

Whatever the diff is it sounds like you're going to have to modify an available one, If you could post pics of yours perhaps myself or someone else can compare and come up with some ideas.

The only difference is that the 83 muffler mounts horizontal behind the engine.

That's why he would need a muffler, and head pipe from another year. It would be a simple bolt on.
