Wanting smoother ride
I have a 2012 RXV with low profile wheels and rims. I really like the look but the ride is so darn rough. Is there some better shocks or maybe adding a custom seat that would help with the comfort of the ride. Taking off the low profile rims would be my last resort.
Thanks! |

Re: Wanting smoother ride
Tires are the first and most important suspension component especially on light vehicles. You can reduce the spring rate somewhat to try and compensate for having hard tires, but then you loose any load/passenger carrying capacity, along with handling.

Re: Wanting smoother ride
svtnos, I was hoping someone had some really nice shocks to put under the beast so it would ride smoother.

Re: Wanting smoother ride
Shocks do nothing for ride over small bumps or stones, they only dampen suspension movement, especially rebound. Stiffer shocks will actually make the cart ride harsher!

Re: Wanting smoother ride
I had an 1993 Par Car that was a heavy old beast and would just seem to glide over the path like the big old Cadillacs did years ago lol. dundeebarnbuggy is right, shots won't help the small bumps, but I really don't notice small bumps its when I cross over a cart path or a dip in the terrain I notice it and jolts my whole cart and body. I am also considering upgrading my seat to one of those nice luxery seats, thinking maybe that would help also??

Re: Wanting smoother ride
how much air pressure is in the tires?
lower it down and it will help. 20psi is going to ride like a wagon wheel with low pro tires. 7-8 would probably be a lot better, depending on what size of tires you have on there. |
