Talking School me on G16 Drive Clutches

I have acquired a 1997 G16 and I believe I need a new drive clutch based on a few symptoms; no ability to start moving while on a decent incline, a groove is worn into the discs, and hard engagement when starting with full throttle. I have added a new heavy duty belt, but that did not change anything.

It sounds like a replacement is a better option than rebuilding. If you agree that a new drive clutch is the answer, which replacement option would you put on your cart?

A) Bestauto on Amazon $119 - I'm guessing there is a good reason its cheap. Has anyone here used it? Also similar to many on Ebay
B) Golf Cart King brand $210 - This doesn't look quite like my stock clutch, but cheaper than OEM.
C) Gboost #218983 $300
D) "G29 Team" clutch $356 - Based on my searches this might be a good option and should be able to work on my G16, but is pricey.
E) "Bikingboy" Ebay Clutch - $190 Same appearance as OEM, but who knows.

Am I missing anything? (Since I'm a new member, I had to remove my links in the post above ) Sorry!

I have used many of the Gboost clutches with good success. Never been a fan of the team clutches. I'm at a Yamaha dealer, and have seen my fair share of the team setup.

As far as the others, I cant say.

You can put the new Yamaha Factory clutch with the black cover. It will work very nicely.

Wow, if I'm looking at the right part, it comes in at $460! Is there any advantage to go with the new style? If not, I'll probably end up going with the Gboost.

People say the new clutch is great on older stuff, but there is no possible way there isn't a alignment issue involved in that swap. The thicker margin guarantees that either the starter belt, or the drive belt won't be straight.

I also installed a new Plowman's primary clutch on my new to me '87 G2, it was $279 and works way better than the stock clutch that was on the cart.

I can't recommend Plowman's enough! You have to call and talk to Don Plowman and he will ask you a few questions and then make his recommendation. If you have a few extra bucks to spend, you could also look into one of his performance kits, it really wakes up these small Yamaha engines and unlocks some power that the factory hid. I know that as long as I am running a stock engine, I will go to Plowman's for any of my needs!
