Sorry, after an exhaustive search effort I finally found the bag I put the timing set in. That will teach me never to clean again

Unfortunately, I must have left the pin in the camshaft when I sold that head on ebay. I've got both timing gears, the belt, tensioner, and etc. But no pin. Hopefully somebody here (trig or someone maybe?) Has one they can measure the length and diameter.

Thanks for the help. Just need to find the pin or get a new one. If someone could send me the size of the pin I would appreciate it.

I'd think a piece of 1/8" would work fine. Id really try and get grade 8 though, I dont know how hard the OEM one is but I know it will eat the cam gear alive if the camshaft locks up and the gear keeps spinning. So I'd imagine it's pretty hard.

Dont ask, that's a touchy subject

Oh I’ll bet that was exciting, CP241!

Looks like a 3mm X 8mm would be ideal, and yes hardened & ground. On my cam a 1/8” wouldn’t fit - that .007 of press wouldn’t fly.
