Default 1985 EZ GO Marathon 2 cycle Gas pedal

Strange question, why when the accelerator cable is disconnected, the cart still functions with the gas pedal? **** thing runs fine been chasing some gremlins with ignition timing and why the cart runs faster in reverse compared to forward... Been thru all fuel system and am stumped...

When you disconnect the throttle cable the carb goes to wide open (floored), so the gas pedal itself is just powering on/off the starter and ignition. It's common for these to run faster in reverse

You must still have the Gov connected, that could fool you into thinking the gas pedal is actually doing something other than simply firing the ignition and starter.

Figure L-12 of the manual shows how to set the timing. Everything should be centered.

Post a picture of your carburetor.

Posts 51, and 52 of this thread show how the cable is supposed to be connected. https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/show...=153523&page=6
