Worked on cart this week
Was checking the oil, belt and battery the other day and decided to drain the carburetor.
Good news it starts and runs much better although eventually I will have to rebuild the carb. Now if I could figure out how to repair the rattle in the muffler without breaking the bank I would be one happy camper. |

Re: Worked on cart this week
Rattle in the muffler might be the heat shield? If your muffler has one. It's a piece of sheet metal molded to the shape of the muffler. It creates air space between the muffler and the shield. It just helps keep the heat down. But sometimes the welds that hold them on come loose and they rattle.

Re: Worked on cart this week
I checked the heat shield awhile ago I suspect that their is an internal baffle that has come loose. The big heat shield is in place the little one that covers the first exhaust pipe is missing.
Been thinking about using an old creamed corn can to make a new small shield, the ridges would make it fairly solid and the round shape is about right... |
