Question 2011 TXT Starter/Generator

First, and foremost, forgive me if this is a ridiculous question - I've searched but could not find an answer.

I recently purchased a 2011 EZGO TXT (Kawasaki FJ400D). I added some electronics - street legal lighting kit, LED under lighting, 450w Bazooka LED soundbar, overhead fan, etc. I live in a very golf cart friendly community and we often get together and enjoy hanging out and listening to music by the water. With that being said, my worry is battery draw. Now, for the most part, I'm not running everything at the same time, but I will often run the speaker and under lighting for extended periods of time (roughly 1-2 hrs). My first thought was to buy a deep cycle battery, however, I haven't found one that will physically fit onto the battery tray. My next thought was to find a starter/generator that has a higher amperage output than the stock 16a one in hopes that I can generate more volume of charge for the battery while underway, (maybe drive the cart for 5/10 minutes to replenish some charge, then come back to the party). I found this 35a starter generator and was very hopeful, but then began to wonder if the voltage regulator will negate any of those hopes. I know it regulates voltage, but could not find anything concrete as to if it also affects the amperage fed to the battery - electrical isn't my strong point.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Default Re: 2011 TXT Starter/Generator

You want a battery for running the cart and a separate deep cycle battery for party mode.
Maybe a new light weight lithium ion deep cycle to save space. Johnnieb over in the ezgo electric section is the battery expert. I would follow his advice.
