Default Yam Gas G5 Reverse buzzer question

1990 gas Sun Classic, am wondering if reverse buzzer is supposed to do its thing even if the key is OFF???
If only supposed to work when key is on, can some one guce me an idea how to fix??
To be clear, only comes on when cart is in reverse, but does not matter if jey is on or off,,

Sounds like what the OP is saying is that the buzzer stays on even when the cart is off?

Mine came on with the key off if the lever was left in reverse.

I'm just wondering....why would anyone leave their cart in reverse? I always parked my cart in neutral with the parking brake on, that's the safest way.
