Unhappy Motor swop

I BOUGHT A g1 MOTOR ON A SALE , i would like to put it in a go cart, it has the CID with it i have a wiring diagram but that has so many switches and solenoids that i dont want, my question is how to wire the electronics to get spark at the plug

If you want reverse you need both solenoids and all the wiring. If not, you just need the forward solenoid and wiring. The golf cart uses a little switch under the accelerator pedal to activate the solenoid and starter/gen. If you use the same switch you can mount it under the go kart pedal and use it the same way.

To know what wires go where, you almost need a donor cart to look at to make sure you get it right. A diagram will show you what circuits feed what, but they don't really give you an actual picture of what the harness and connections look like. To get an accurate idea of what you need and don't need you'll want to look at a cart that is together. Unfortunately I don't have one that's complete, but maybe another member does?

im assuming your using the g1 because you want reverse. I dont know what switches and and solenoids you dont want but your going to need everyting for it to operate properly.
