G29 too fast
I am in The Villages Florida, we are strictly limited to 20 mph, I have a 2007 g29.
It seems to go 22 mph, I have the governor with only 1/4 inch of threads showing, it still goes 22 mph, am I missing anything? |

Re: G29 too fast
Any cart with a working governor should be able to be set to go the legal speed of 12mph. If it wont adjust to that then something is broken or someone moved a cable or whatever. Larger tires will gear it up, the governor would have to be set lower than 12mph equivalent, and I don't know what range they have for adjustment in every cart, however even then 20 mph should be no issue.

Re: G29 too fast
I think that the problem is the number of golf cars and the fact that nobody wants to be slower than their neighbor. The number of accidents would skyrocket without some sort of enforced limit.

Re: G29 too fast
Are you certain that the 2 throttle cables are adjusted properly and that the governor is even working? Did the input shaft throw the weights?

Re: G29 too fast
The governor still acts upon the final cable with spring tension. The pedal to governor cable can overcome that spring tension, if it's set tight enough. Adjustments are either at the pedal end, under the floor panel, or the governor end, under the starter generator. Loosen that up at either end and you'll drop speed.
