Default What's the best way to wire a 48v reducer to a keyed source?

Wanting to wire my voltage reducer to a key switch source on my 2008 G29. Any tip on where I should tap into a key hot 48v source? Or what's the best way so the reducer isn't energized the whole time? It's the 4 wire setup that doesn't have a signal wire.

Yep, since you got the cheapo, you have to get a small 48v relay to be able to hook it to your keyswitch. If you hook it directly to the keyswitch, you will soon kill the keyswitch & get to walk home. But, hey, you saved a couple bucks. (Those cheapo converters arent known for long life, but are known for a high "dud" rate right out of the box)

I'm green to all this and my neighbor gave me the current reducer. What's a good one that won't need a relay and is more plug and play?

DPI makes my favorite, it has a separate wire to hook to keyswitch for activation. Its USA made, 2 year warranty. I have used hundreds of these over the years, and probably seen 1-2 fail ever.

Ezgo & Yamaha both currently use a DPI converter for their oem light setups, so, I'm not the only one that thinks they are a good choice.
