Question 1986 Electric Golf Club car

I'm a brand new owner of a 1986 Electric Golf Club car. Cart in GREAT shape but needs batteries. Purchased cart not knowing anything about the batteries. Currently has mix matched ones. It is a 36 volt system, which I'm assuming needs (6) 6 volt batteries. It is wired in sequence. Would like any suggestions I could get on what's the best type of batteries to purchase, what's a good price and who sells them at a good price. Thanks in advance for the info.

You can get what you like its according to how much you want to spend. But make sure you put on new battery cables when you put in new batteries. There is trojan, exide, crown,us battery, and many others.

..... and just when you get near the end of all the battery comparison stuff you realize that correct use and maintenance makes more of difference in overall performance and the useful life length of a battery pack than the brand you buy

Welcome aboard

Thumbs up Re: 1986 Electric Golf Club car

Hey scootyb,
You're right. Way too many to choose from.
Could you tell me if more lead gets you better range or is it the amps?
I think once I purchase the first set, I'll be good to go and probably will learn alot along the way.
Thanks for the info. and the speedy reply.

Hey golfcarfixer,
You're right. Way too many to choose from. I'm thinking about maybe either going with US2200's or Crown CR225's (roll of the dice).
