Should be fine, it just depends how long you leave it on with out the cart running, and if you have a good battery---

Take pics of the install

Just try to think of this in reguards to an auto somewhat. If you run it excessively without moving you will drain the battery. As you well know the battery aint chargin if the cart aint runnin. Like rib said, a good batt. will help. Maybe a batt. with more cap. will help.. Oh yeah, definitely send pics!!

Don't know much about that amp but a true 80 wtpc amp can pull some current. Not a bunch but enough to put a hurting on a small battery. A decent setup is to add a 27 or 29 deep cycle with a battery isolator. Engine will charge both but amp and acc will only pull from the second bat. Adds a little weight but you won't have a dead battery.

OK, went to JL's site and it recommends a 25amp fuse. It won't normally pull this but at half that is a little more than two 55 wt halogen headlights as a reference. So lights plus an amp will bring a little battery down fairly quickly.

my 2 cents

Well your battery must not be to good-- because I have a 2000 watt in my truck with a $50 battery and it will run for hours with out the truck running, and will not kill the battery

Yep, I have to agree, I have a large system in 1 of my boats(1962 Dorsett). I can drift for hours with tunes going, and no problems. I run w/2 batteries on a isolator for extra juice should I run 1 down...good luck.
