Default 2003 EZGO Compression at 120

Hello everyone. I have a 2003 ezgo with the pre MCI 9hp. I purchased last year off a golf course. I have added a 4 inch lift and 10" tires. No problems yet. However, after giving a complete tune-up this spring I noticed my compression was reading at 120 each cylinder. I have not noticed any performace problems or any oil consumption. Is this compression condsidered average and when should I consider a valve adjustment or any other alterations to prevent excessive engine wear?

Thanks all.

I would think you would have seen a power loss at 120. 140 to 155 is pretty good, but 120 is low. I would definitely check valve lash and correct it if needed. This may help your comp. values if the lash is out.

Agreed..... valve adjustment is maintenance, not repair tactics... Everybody stop what you are doing and adjust your valves, NOW! .004 Cold

Wasn't there just some talk a while back about adjusting intakes @ .004 and exhausts @ .006 or .008 , both cold settings?

Reason being one heats up more than the other when it's running.

I've always stuck with .004 and had good results.

I adjust all at .004. I have not had any issue with them yet.
