Re: Rev Limiter
Whenn you do, buy a revmeter and good synthetic oil.
Change the oil at about the half mileage. Don't go over 5000 and change the revs! Do this on a good engine, not a old and ill one. If you want more, buy rodbearings to.(and build them in...) My aircooled did 8500 in more than 300 hours of racingconditions. My watercooled a little lessbecouse of more than 9000. I change my full synth. esther oil evry 8 to 10 hours. My experience is stay under 7500, over 8000 the risk of breaking is to much and due to the aluminium rods. You see, more revs costs Euro's and even more Dollars.... Benno |

Re: Rev Limiter
I agree. The motor must be healthy or your asking for trouble.
The only way to eliminate thee rev limiter is to replace the ignitor with an MSD. I have one on mine and it's great but it was also a fresly rebuilt hopped up motor that has an oil cooler and is running synth oil. Just maxing out the gov was enough to kill my first motor but it was tired when we got the cart. |

Re: Rev Limiter
on my club car i disable the governor and disconected a wire that made the engine cut out at high rpms. on this cart i adjusted the governor but if i go to much theres a point wher the engine cuts. im wondering if with the ezgos this limiter can be removed

Re: Rev Limiter
The ez go's have a built in rev limiter in the ignitor. I don't think there is any other way to by pass it other than going with an MSD ignition like Bill said.. I have done the mod. on mine b/c of the ignitor rev. limiter.

Re: Rev Limiter
You can get used boxes for 100 or so, but new 6a units run about 225.00.... I am running mine with the twin tower msd coil but have heard that the stock coil can and will work... FastFred here at BGW put me on the fix for the limiter and the wiring diagram to install it into the existing wiring..
