i installed a new rogers 586 solenoid and cart now moves great in reverse but does not work in forward the noid will click and noid gets real hot really fast... need help would be willing to pay for some advice or help trouble shooting .. my cart is not stock and i cant find anything to help me trouble shoot thanks again for any help

i have done some research i have a GE d392 motor ,a 700amp series controller i have replaced FNR switch new rogers586 noid my cart will not move in foward but reverse works great.. i swapped the cables on the FNR switch (the ones with rotating lugs) so that reverse is foward and vise versa same results no foward reverse works great.. the controller will humm in foward and the cart will try to move but thats it and cables gets really hot.. thanks for any help

With a conversion like this it is really hard to say without knowing how the thing is wired...... Sounds like you have a dead short in reverse. But when you swapped the two swiveling leads on the F&R, you still only had the one (same) direction? if that is so ..... the F&R is good and the solenoid is good.... I think the controller is okay and the pot is okay.... mark and disconnect all the motor leads and check for unwanted continuity between any S terminal and any A terminal... any continuity between any A & S terminal indicates a short in the motor.
