Re: Whats my Options
The belt is not real loose on the pulley. It is a stock belt. I do not see a parking brake anyplace. It is going on the lift today and I can get a better look at it. When I grab the belt it wants to move both pulleys. Is the clutch not disengaging all the way maybe?

Re: Whats my Options
Another quik/cheap mod.first,is the govenor removed? If not,do it.second, remove the cover on the Drive-Clutch.remove the spring and add about 3/16"-1/4" shim washer behind it.This alone will make a huge difference on a stock cart with 22" tires.Next step.Disassemble the Driven-Clutch and remove the shim from between the sheaves, this allows the sheaves to close up more and gives more low-end.Add a 1/8"-3/16" shim under the spring, this will delay up-shifting so you stretch out your low-range a little longer. All of this is done to my cart,I was out in the woods yesterday with some friends yesterday, they were on my 4-wheelers,i was on my cart and they couldn't believe how it performs. We clocked it at 23mph down a trail against my Foreman.Hope this helps.

Re: Whats my Options
No the HP3004 will not work for you. Half way through 1988 EZGO changed the layout of the rear end and the belt is a different length. I suggest that you gat a tape measure or some string and wrap it around your belt to measure the length. Now search for a belt no shorter than 1 inch than your stock belt. Don't be tempted to go any shorter as you will not be able to roll it on.
